What Are Ruffneck Rover Pack Walks?

Ruffneck Rover Pack Walks are invite-only, structured group walks from Urban Ruffneck K9 Training in the Oklahoma City metro. They give Lifelong Journey Package clients a safe, real-world place to practice loose-leash walking, calm greetings, and confidence around other dogs — turning the calm you built at home into a dog who can do life with you anywhere.

What Makes a Dog a Ruffneck Rover? (Our Standards)

Our dogs earn it — step by step, rep by rep, walk by walk. Before your dog joins a walk, we look for a few things, not because we’re picky, but because they’re what keep the pack safe and successful:

A working foundation — your dog can walk on a loose leash and respond to you, even with mild distraction.
The ability to settle — your dog can take a breath and reset instead of staying locked at a 10.
Handler readiness — you know your dog’s signals and can advocate for them on the line. (Remember: we train the human, too.)

Why "Invite-Only" Actually Matters

The exclusivity isn’t about status — it’s about safety and success. A structured pack walk only works when every dog in it is set up to win. Throwing an unprepared dog into the group would be unfair to that dog and disruptive for everyone else. By keeping the Rovers invite-only, we protect the calm, controlled environment that makes the whole thing work — so your dog’s experience is a win every single time.

Is My Reactive or Anxious Dog Welcome?

Often, yes — once the foundation is in place. Some of our strongest Rovers started as reactive or anxious dogs. The pack walk is controlled exposure: structured distance, calm energy, and a trainer reading the room in real time. That’s the opposite of flooding your dog at a chaotic dog park. The goal is always to keep your dog under threshold and succeeding — building positive associations, not stacking stress. Your in-home consultation and sessions are where we’ll figure out the right starting point for your specific dog.

How Can You and Your Dog Join the Pack Walk?

Ruffneck Rovers is earned, not bought — and there’s an important thing to know up front: the pack walks aren’t a standalone package you can sign up for on their own. They’re an exclusive benefit for our Lifelong Journey Package families.

Here’s the path:

1. Start with the in-home consultation ($100, about 2 hours). Every journey with us begins here. After a quick phone call, Loreanne comes to your home — where the real behavior happens — to assess your dog, talk through your goals, and build a clear, tailored plan. No pressure, no obligation.

2. Begin the Lifelong Journey Package. If the flagship is the right fit, your training builds directly on that plan: two in-home sessions to set the foundation, then three real-world public sessions that take the calm out into busy streets and distractions. The package runs $1,775–$1,995 and includes a balanced, fear-free plan built around your dog, personalized support, and — the part that matters most for life — lifetime trainer access.

3. Earn your invite to the Rovers. As you and your dog progress, you earn exclusive invites to the Ruffneck Rover pack walks. Your dog needs a working foundation — basic loose-leash skills, the ability to settle, and enough impulse control to handle controlled exposure to other dogs. That’s not a gate to keep you out; it’s what keeps every dog in the pack safe and set up to succeed. We’ll tell you honestly when you’re ready, and we’ll help you get there.

4. Keep walking — for the life of your dog. Because Rover invites come with lifetime trainer access, the pack walks aren’t a one-and-done graduation. They’re an ongoing community you and your dog can return to again and again, through every new phase of life.
